Multiband -

is a method of audio processing where the sound is split into several frequency ranges (bands), and each band is processed separately. Afterward, all the bands are merged back into a single signal.

Equalizers are inherently multiband by nature. Compressors, on the other hand, can be single-band or multiband — with multiband compressors allowing you to control high and low frequencies differently within the same signal.

Came up with a joke: A single-band EQ is basically just a volume fader 😄
